Hair for the Opposite Sex!

Working with hair extensions and wigs we got used to hearing all sorts of different statements from men and women both:  card1-back

“I like short hair but my husband likes long”
“I will go with long to find a man”
“I want to look like Beyonce”
“My wife wants me to look younger”
“I don’t want anyone to notice”

Ok so first of all, I believe that hair is personal. Working in the field, we realize just how false it is to change your hair solely on what your spouse, your girl/boyfriend, etc… wants.  Why do I say this? Well simply because when someone does a change to their hair to solely please someone else, they end up not liking it. They feel a visual shock to their body image.  Solution get a wig that can be used to please the other person.  It becomes a costume wig that doesn’t alter the person’s self confidence or body image.

“I want to look like Beyonce”

Ok Really?  Beyonce is Beyonce, and it is very difficult to take Beyonce’s “hair” and put it on a woman and pretend she looks like Beyonce.  Basically it takes more then hair to make someone LOOK like Beyonce….  This is a major let down for women thinking by changing their hair they will change their face.  Ok to a certain extent hair does change a face but we understand each other that we aren’t doing plastic surgery here!  What to do?  We need to look at the person’s facial features, her face shape and then choose a wig or hairstyle that corresponds to it.

Men!  You can look younger with hair, but please be realistic.  If you come in with white hair and not one hair on the top of your head, then leave with brown hair and a Justin Bieber hair cut I promise people will notice, and honestly who cares?  If you do something to make you feel good, then own it!  It is the same for us women.  There is no shame in wearing hair extensions, wigs or volumizers.  As long as you own it and love it.  Yes we know how to make it look natural, but if the change is extreme, people who know you and see you often may notice the change.  It is up to you to prepare mentally and feel comfortable.  You would be surprised to know how many thousands of people around you are wearing some sort of hair replacement!

Again do it for yourself!

The Latest Trends In Mens Hairstyles using a toupee!

Modern men’s hairstyles are now more versatile than ever. This article explores some of the many different ways that men’s hair is now being styled using hair replacement methods.

Today’s mens hair styles can be either long and textured or  short and tight and still be considered trendy and at the height of fashion. Some men’s hair styles require gel, mousse or pomade while others don’t even need to be combed. The truth is that now more than ever there are numerous ways to achieve a stylish and trendy man hair cut. That means that there are a lot of different styles for men who are looking for the perfect man hair style to choose from.  Of course using a toupee will help achieve almost any look the man is trying to achieve.

Here are just a few of the latest trends in men’s hair styles and how to style them:

” Super short man’s hair style. High and Tight, Fade, Spike, Clipper Cut and Crew Cut are just a few of the names given to the short man’s hair cut. By far the most popular man’s hair style is the High and Tight or Fade. Characterized by a closely cropped clipper cut around the sides and back of the head with just enough hair on top of the head to comb, this man’s hair style with its many variations accounts for about 75 percent of all popular styles today. With just a little bit of gel to spike up the top, mess it up a little or finger into place, this man’s hair style will only take you seconds to achieve. While you may have to get it cut more often, about every three weeks or so, the ease of styling this man hair cut is what makes it a favorite among busy men today.  Using a toupee will limit this hair style.  The hair on the toupee and the hair of the person needs to blend properly  for it to look natural. A toupee cannot be cut too short, the hair is attached by knots, so the hair can fall out.

” Medium length, textured men’s hair style. Today’s styles for men have a lot of texture and the same is true for medium-length styles (about 3 to 4 inches). These styles resemble the classic man hair cut of the past, but step it up a notch by using extreme texture and color to bring it all together. Most styles use a great deal of razoring and texturizing with notching scissors. To style this man’s hair style pomade usually works best. Work product through dry hair and finger into place.  Toupees are amazing to create this effect.  When done properly you can never tell that there is a piece on the head.

” Long man’s hair style. While most men do not wear their hair down their back anymore, the long man’s hair style has made a somewhat shorter comeback. Perhaps the most recognizable example that I can give of this men’s hair style is Ashton Kutcher. Long, textured and disheveled, this man hair cut is gaining widespread popularity. Again, this man’s hair cut requires a lot of texture and works best with pomade.  Again, a very simple fix if ever the man has lost the hair on the top, with a piece you can create this long style.

As you can see from these few examples, the man’s hair style is far from boring. Gone are the days of cookie-cutter barber shop man hair cut. Here to stay is the trendy and styled cuts of today.  Using a toupee to do this is actually great and allows you to do whatever look you want!
